REGULAR MEETING - 10TH DECEMBER 2012 - JOY OF GIVING

Yip See See - Toastmaster Of The Evening Christmas is round the corner, and Crystal Toastmasters Club had a Pre-Christmas Celebration Meeting on 10th December 2012. On this special meeting, our Toastmaster Of The Evening, Yip See See, ATMS with the theme “Joy Of Giving” bring the ambient of Christmas alive at the meeting. A total of 41 people, combining of members and guest attended the meeting bringing with them gift for exchange. Guest as far as Brunei and Margaret, a gorgeous 87 old woman had joined us on this wonderful occasion. We had plenty of food to go around and a special menu arranged by Emily, ACB, ALB, a  Christmas turkey and potatoes to go with it. Turkey are a traditional dish that are not to be miss in any celebration of Christmas. Our 4 vibrant speakers for the evening are Esther Then, TM, Joey Cheng, TM, Lee Mei Foong, ACB, ALB and Emily Bong, ACB, ALB with their evaluators, Emcee Cva, CC, Richard Hoy, CTM, G. REGULAR MEETING - 26TH NOVEMBER 2012 - THANKS GIVING

TME - Tan Siew Eng, CTM On 26th November 2012, Crystal had our marathon meeting and the TME of the evening is none other than Tan Siew Eng, CTM. In this meeting, Yip See See, ATMB had brought live to us Mother Theresa and won herself as Best Assignment Speaker for the evening. Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun who started the Missionaries of Charity and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work with people. For over forty years, she took care of needs of those without money, those who were sick, those without parents, and those dying in Calcutta, guided in part by the ideals of Saint Francis of Assisi. As the Missionaries of Charity grew under Mother's leadership, they expanded their ministry to other countries. By the 1970s she had become internationally well known as an advocate for the poor and helpless. Our guest, Kay Wong, emerged as Best Evaluator for the evening. On 22 nd October 2012, our Toastmaster of the Evening, Nana Halim, TM, brought us together with the Theme – Bloom. It was indeed a blossom evening with the ladies and even our General Evaluator, Benny Chia, ACB, CL came in floral design fabric attire. In every Toastmasters meeting it is a journey of fun learning and for the evening, I practically found myself to be a better poser for photography session through “ How To Be Photogenic “. REGULAR MEETING – 8TH OCTOBER 2012 – MOVING FORWARD

The theme “Moving Forward” is to motivate the members to progress or advance further in our journey of toast mastering. The Toastmaster Of The Evening, Emily Bong, ACB, ALB, had early on before the meeting, blast out an email, “ Are you  moving  forward  to  equip  yourself to be a  better mentor?" Our honorable Brand Strategist Speaker’s, Jon Tan, DTM, had tailor made a “Mini Mentoring Workshop” in this meeting. In this workshop, he talks about how to be an effective mentor and the benefits of being a coach, mentor or mentee. It also explore on defining vision plan and mentoring scope. A practical role of Mentor and Mentee had taken place in this session to in-depth further in this workshop. He even distribute the materials of Mentoring to all who attended the workshop. REGULAR MEETING - 240912 - THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival or Zongqiu Festival, is a popular lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people. Celebration of the Mid-Autumn festival has a history of over 3,000 years dating back to the moon worship in ancient times. The festival is celebrated extensively across the country, and is one of the few reunion holidays for Chinese families. On that day, Chinese family members stay together, admiring the full moon, as it is the brightest and fullest in the whole year and eating mooncakes. In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, Crystal Toastmasters Club had set the Theme – Mid-Autumn Festival to boost up the meeting. Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Lee Mei Foong, did a fantastic job by staging the mood!! And, record show that we had 10 guests and 21 members attending the meeting. Congratulation!! CRYSTAL GANGNAM STYLE "Gangnam Style" a 2012 Korean pop single by PSY. It has been highly praised for its humor, catchy rhythm, as well as PSY's unusual dance moves. The song was released on July 15, 2012, when it debuted at number one on the Gaon Chart. The music video has been viewed over 246 million times as of September 22, 2012 making it You Tube’s most watched K-Pop video. The song has topped the iTunes Charts in 31 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. On September 17, "Gangnam Style" was nominated for Best Video at the upcoming 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards to be held in Frankfurt, Germany. Club & Area - Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contests

Crystal Toastmasters Club, hit the wave of sensation for the Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contests on 27th August 2012 as its smash the record of participants for both contests. Caroline Wong, ATMB our Organizing Chair vibrantly energized the audience by commencing the evening with the Humorous Speech Contest and followed by the Evaluation Contest. In every contest, each and every participants are a winner in his or her own way by having the courage and confident to step forward as a contestants. The enrichment of knowledge, experience and fun learning is a journey to success. The audience and role players are equally important as without them the show cannot goes on !! It was a humorous evening as everyone is entertained with all the Contestants speeches. The speech with the title “Nine Month Glory” was so hilariously presented that it captured the audience heart as soon as the first sentence was utter. And as true as the speech title stand out, it was GLORY for Yip See See,

Turning Lead Into Gold

Moving forward to our 2 nd meeting with the theme “ Turning Lead Into Gold ” , our ever pink Jennifer Pan, CC as the TME, conducted another exuberating and memorable evening of a Speech Marathon with 6 enthusiastic Speakers incorporating the word of the evening “ Transcend ” in their Assignment Speeches. “ Turning Lead Into Gold ”  is a representation of an alchemy which is a sacred science that involves a magical process of transmutation of lead, which is the most impure metal into gold, which is of the most refined quality. It is a symbol of human potential. This metaphor for human transformation was made famous by an international best seller book entitled “the Alchemist” by renowned Author, Paulo Coelho. Personally, Jennifer relates the journey of toastmasters as a process that parallels the alchemical transformation of lead into gold. The mission of Crystal TM Club is to provide a platform for women to rewrite their destiny. Since the Club’s inception
