Crystal kicked-start the first meeting of the new term with many BIG BANGS ~! Loud and Exciting! Continue reading to find out why. The first BANG: Embrace your journey! President Joey chose this theme because she believes that everyone has their strength, ability, and skills. She hopes everyone could make use of toastmaster's platform to unleash, unlock and shine while embracing their journey with us. For the past 22 years, Crystal has empowered countless of successful women. Stars are born and many of the members had also transformed into bolder and better speakers. It wasn't magic, it's the power of confidence, the attitude of believing, and Joey said she was really proud of them! 23rd President: Joey Cheng The second BANG: It was a combination of Physical + Zoom meeting! We created history by having Zoom and Physical meeting concurrently. It was all the early planning stages by many parties that made it possible. Group photo with Zoom participants

08.06.2020 Theme: In Gratitude We Endure

It’s easy to feel grateful when life is good, but when disaster strikes, gratitude is worth the effort ~~~ Robert Emmons Throughout the good and trying times, Crystal TMC has been consistently solid in all aspects.   Despite the tough challenges Crystal faced, we endured and overcame our challenges. It was not because we have star performers, and definitely not because we were better than everyone else. It’s because we have each other’s support. The winner of the Best Table Topics Speaker is none other than one of our Crystal’s pillar Tan Saw Bee, DTM. She was given a question “would you rather be envious or angry?” She answered it wisely by using her own experience through the years as examples. “My Experience as a Mentee” – the Best Assignment Speaker Joey Cheng shared with us about her journey when she first joined Crystal Toastmaster club. An impressive evaluation from Past Area B4 Director Sangeetha, ACS ALB. She presented a well-structured evaluation a

19.05.2020 THEME: TIME IS LIKE A RIVER

JOINT MEETING OF   METROPOLITAN BILINGUAL T MC & CRYSTAL TMC It was an eye-opening experience for both clubs when we held a cross-districts joint meeting with Metropolitan Bilingual TMC. This was because most of the members have not been exposed to clubs outside District 102. we truly appreciated the support and opportunity rendered to us by the President, Mr.Henry Fu. The Toastmaster of the Evening Catherine Wong was only given 2 days to prepare for the meeting. It seems like a “Mission Impossible” she could still made it with the teamwork from both clubs - Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much - Helen Keller.   President of Crystal Vivian Seow had her opening address with a message that says, “Although there is no boundary in the digital world, time is like a river, you cannot touch the same water twice” It’s true that online meeting has no boundary. One can join different meetings numerous times, or replay online a past meeting that they

The Power of You - 13 April, 2020

THE POWER OF YOU by: Dr. Elaine Loo Every member in our society is valuable and necessary for our society’s progress, just like every part of the body plays an important function. We tend to think certain parts of the body being not as important – but actually we need every part equally. It’s only when each part of the body is respected and treated with care that the whole body remains healthy and can grow well. I had a friend who had the appendix removed due to an infection. “It does not have an important function. It’s ok.”    he said. “ For the past few decades, conventional medicine believed the appendix was an unimportant organ and served very little function. Emerging evidence is painting a strikingly different picture. It turns out that the appendix play a vital function in the development of the immune system,” said my friend who is a doctor. Similarly in our society, each and every member is an essential part to the health of the whole nation, whol
