Crystal Super Duper Nite -11th October 2010

“Crystal Toastmasters Club is a vast conspiracy to make you a good leader ” Distinguished Toastmaster Sivalingam, our invited General Evaluator called me at 6:15pm, and I was told that the meeting room was dark, empty and nothing happening.. To my surprise, I was not in a panic; I was very calm when I handled the situation. I called Tropicana but was told the sale office was closed and all their staff has gone off duty. I managed to contact En Razak, the F & B Manager, through his mobile phone.Within half an hour, a team of maintenance staff, set up the whole meeting room, with the refreshment, all ready on the dot(6:45pm). Hence, our meeting started on time with only a handful of members. Emily Bong CC , who was the acting President, have much reason to ‘ smile ’ . There are many more benefits

Dear Crystal Ladies, Good news ! Our Emily Bong took up the challenge doing her Advance Manual #2 at ACM. ACM is a fantastic platform for Toaastmasters who want to:- a) receive EFFECTIVE and CONSTRUCTIVE feedback from not 1 but MANY evaluators b) enhance your EVALUATION skill - the PARTICIPANTS can give feedback too c) improve your LEADERSHIP skills by playing the role as facilitator or co-ordinator. The way they conduct the meeting is different from what we normally have. For the speakers, they are not only given panel but also open evaluations from the participants. Wow ! what a wonderful experience to have so many effective and constructive evaluations for your speech. On that day, Emily presented the Project #2 : Resources for Entertainment and her speech title was "Seeing through the Eyes of a Caucasian". . The audience could almost pictured Emily Bong as the old fashion mother-in-law, has welcomed her "daughter" and her mat salleh (foreign) husband from

Dear Members and Guests It was a Great Surprise to us , when a group of people walked into the Meeting room........ Mr Low Hong Keng, Head of Business School from KBU International College walked in with his lecturer and with his five students from KBU. Crystal ladies greeted them with a warm welcome. All members and guests settle to their seat, as order was announced by the Sergeant at arms(SAA) Madam President Lee Mei Foong ACB, gave her opening speech. Her key message was to advise us, not to be easily influence by negative remarks and to eliminate all 'rubbish' to the garbage truck. The theme of the evening was ‘to do or not to do’ . Novice TME, Bong YiLin CC , did well in her introduction by structuring a poem. How was Toastmasters founder Dr Raph Smedley started this program with his group of friends. Grammarian Chin Teng Yoong CTM , encourage us to use this Word of the evening, Discerning - having showing good judgment or understanding. Impromptu time!
