Distinguished Toastmaster Sivalingam, our invited General Evaluator called me at 6:15pm, and I was told that the meeting room was dark, empty and nothing happening..
To my surprise, I was not in a panic; I was very calm when I handled the situation. I called Tropicana but was told the sale office was closed and all their staff has gone off duty. I managed to contact En Razak, the F & B Manager, through his mobile phone.Within half an hour, a team of maintenance staff, set up the whole meeting room, with the refreshment, all ready on the dot(6:45pm).
Hence, our meeting started on time with only a handful of members.
Emily Bong CC, who was the acting President, have much reason to ‘smile’. Evidently proven.......putting on a smile, for what had happen, ‘Just let them know, we want to resume our meeting instead of blaming other, people will react to you differently’.Well! There are many more benefits of giving your smile...........This is one of the many good Testimonies from Toastmasters........
Theme of the evening: “Smile and be happy”
Word of the day: ‘Blissful’ was set by our grammarian, Serene Ting TM.
The Power of now begin, the Powerful TME Karen Hee ATMB, took control of the meeting with a great Invocation. Her points were, to enrich our life, enjoy the beautiful relationship with family/friends and make full use of our life. Stay tune at your present moment..... and enjoy every moment of it.
Life is too good not to be wasted............
Humor Master, YiLin CC, shared with us two good jokes; she has a talent in her humorous nature.
Casey Cheah TM, did great in her first attempt, as a Table Topic Master. She managed to convince the audience to sweep up all her seven Topics.
Seven table topic speakers spoke so well that our table topic evaluator, Chin Teng Yoong CTM, could not detect any error of improvement for all speakers.
Assignment speakers of the night:
LayChi Low ACS, shared her love in mentoring, she reminded all mentees/new members to be open and not to deny their true talent and potential. 'Go to your mentor, seek their advice, set your goal and go for beyond'.......
"Thank you ‘Coach’, I am approaching the club top status, beneath your wings”.
Second speaker Emily Bong CC, talk about the difference of men and women. Why do beautiful woman, still need to beautify themselves with make up? And why man??????
Let’s not argue; just be grateful for the differences that make the world so wonderful.
Thou' we shall live happily, harmoniously and hopefully till infinity......
Irene Lee CTM, ALB, inspires all members to have a vision in our Toastmasters journey and also our personal/career life. ‘All the members are Leaders'. Leaders are motivator and leaders are very focus too. Good leadership will lead the way to your successful career and a blissful family life.
Ladies, start moving towards a worthwhile goal......
We were so motivated by the speakers, the atmosphere was just awesome, where everyone was so caring and tolerant. Due to the low attendance of our experience evaluator, our invited guest also our General Evaluator, Sivalingam DTM, took up three roles: This superman, whom we call the ‘Leader’ never disappoints us. He came to our rescue as an early bird, and a triple players to evaluate our two advance assignment speakers.
Last but not least, thank you very much to all role players, who were doing super and duper well in their double, triple roles.The experienced we had was extraordinary; every one was sitting blissfully, delightfully absorbing from the powerful, persuasive and eloquent speakers.We were not affected by the problem poised on us. We, leaders, solve problems effectively.........
Utmost gratitude to all members, your enthusiasm and positive attitude has pulled us through to this, so call ‘impossible to a remarkable Super, Duper Meeting’......
