COT#1 @ Sunway University
COT#1 was just held about exactly a week ago on 11th July 2015. Crystal Toastmasters Club was not a minute late to the "party" with a close to full 6 exco members in attendance.
The agenda for the day looked a little something like this:
The first session was an insightful one by the TLI team on "Creating a Quality Club"
The 2nd session was a breakout session which meant that the exco members of each club were separated and put into a room with the members of other clubs of the same position (too long to understand?). It was a session where we got to explore each position and the roles that we each play towards the development of the club better. *I definitely got to learn more about the VPPR role that I didn't before*
The 3rd (and last) session for the day was chaired by DTM G.Sivalingam. The Division D governer himselfgave an inspiring sharing session on "Leading the Club to Success" and consequently shared with all of us present that day on ways to improve club growth and development, as seen in the picture below where he got us into groups and we were to discuss and present the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (otherwise known as SWOT analysis) which was a breath of fresh air from the mundane speeches.
The day ended with Division B director, ACB ALB Teoh Chun Ming giving his closing address to inspire us for the last time.
The COT#1 ended approximately before 6pm (about 30 minutes after the scheduled time) but all is well because of the early raya jam at 4pm so at 6pm there was not much traffic, hopefully *cross fingers* All in all, I was truly inspired by the COT and definitely learnt a lot from my short training in Sunway University and I'm determined to fulfill my task as best as possible.
