Enchanting

TONIGHT……… all the elegant, charming and vivacious ladies stepped into an enchanting night time with our invited workshop speaker DTM G. Sivalingam and invited general evaluator DTM Victor Ong.

The meeting kicked started by our captivating lady DTM Deborah Leong who mesmerized the audience with her enchanting lady power. Her gaiety and wit have enchanted us all.

Most of the ladies were awakened by the first speaker TM Pua Yu Min with her speech title “Role Model”.Without realizing, most of the parenting skills have created huge impact to their children. She cited an example of how the furious father acted and reacted to different situations. In order to show a good example in front of his children, he finally took the courage to admit his mistakes and dealt with it effectively. TM Yu min finished her speech with a quote for us to ponder on:
“If a child avidly imitates their parent, then why not use it as a force by being a good model.”
Well said TM Yu Min.

Next, we have the opportunity to witness an interview on TV2 via Money Matters programme. ACS ALS Irene Lee guided us on financial planning especially for working women who are still facing money shortage. From the interview we learnt that financial planning is very much depending on individual needs. For example, a single mother or widow will have to put their priority to their children’s education fund and savings for their old age.

During the workshop, all attendees listened attentively to the Table Topic Session hosted by DTM G. Sivalingam.  If you wish to improve your impromptu speech, listed below may be of assistance to you;
1.      * Understand the topic by LISTENING attentively.
2.      * Gather some information by linking the topic to your own experience.
3.      * Deliver by concentrating on one theme or story.
4.      *To overcome your fear by looking at your friends and friendly faces or by using the breathing method to calm down.
At the end of the workshop, DTM G. Sivalingam advises us to participate actively in the Table Topic Session. Practice makes perfect, for it is the only platform to allow us to practice and make mistakes.
To foster our understanding, DTM G. Sivalingam evaluated 4 impromptu speakers and highlighted the important areas that needed to be focus on. Thank you DTM G. Sivalingam for your selfless sharing session.
