New Year New Beginning
A big clap to our President Linda Phoon for highlighting the benefits of setting New Year Resolution.
Yes………….New year resolution can help to unfold new horizons and realize new dreams, to rediscover the strength within oneself, to rejoice in simple pleasures and gear up for new challenges. Start to set one for yourself if you have not. You will definitely benefit from it.

Our TME Jennifer Pan welcomed the crowd with a few quotes in relation to the theme
“New Year New Beginning”.
1.     Zig Ziglar
We cannot start over, but we can begin now and make a new ending.
2.     Uptown Girls
Every story has an end but in life every ending is just a new beginning.
3.     Plato
The beginning is the most important part of the work.
Yes………  Every day is a new beginning. Start now, for you will never know what will happen tomorrow.
In conjunction of the theme, our Table Topic Master CC Aida Ang specifically tailored a few questions in relation to the past, present and the future. All volunteers have the freedom to choose from what they are comfortable with. The questions probe all the volunteers down to their memory lane. For example, Sue Ellen recalled her travelling experiences in Korea. G.Sivalingam is truly grateful for the unconditional love and support from his family members. If given a chance,Mei Ching wishes to travel to places she has not travel before. Li Li would love to take good care of her one & only sexy body and Linda Phoon is looking forward to her Europe tour on December 2014. Wow…………….
Our newly appointed member, TM Pei Ying took the lead by presenting her ice breaker via her speech title “Metamorphosis”. She brought us through her life journey from a goody two shoes to a mature lady now. A few salient point for us to ponder of. When we are young, we are like a pencil, we can erase our mistake and re-write again. When we are getting older, we are like a pen, no matter how much you liquid your mistake, it will still leave a mark on the paper. From her own experiences, exposures and failures, she is proud that she has outgrown herself to a mature lady now.
Our next speaker in line is ACS ALS Ng Sok Teng. She started her speech by telling us in this world nothing is good and nothing is bad. Yes…she is referring todetoxification. According to ancient India, everything under the sun is all good and bad, it is depending on who and how you use it. In her research on Ayurveda Doshas, our body can categorize into 3: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Water detoxification is suitable for Kapha, Juice detoxification is suitable for Kapha and Pitta, whereas Kitchari (bean, rice, ghee and spices) detoxification is suitable for Vata. From her speech, we learned that, in order to rejuvenate ourselves through detoxification, it depends on our body types and the right method to use. For those who are interested, please conduct your own research before proceeding any further.

CC Esther Then as the third speaker held a briefing session on “Clean desk policy”. On behalf of the management, she introduced a clean, classy and clear desk policy for the staff to have a happy, healthy and bountiful new year. She briefed us on the objective and some basic guidelines on how to do it successfully. Every staff will benefit when the office situation changed from the clustered, congested and confused situation to a clean, clear and classy environment.

To assist ACB ALB Emily in completing her Special Occasion project number 5, we need to rewind our memories back to year 2011/2012 when we witnessedACB ALB Emily Bong proudly accepted the President Distinguished Award on stage during 2012 KL convention at Sunway Convention Centre. She truly appreciates all the effort, motivation and support from all crystal excos and members. She is proud to continue uphold the 10/10 President Distinguished Awards. She encouraged all members to have faith and beliefs in whatever they are doing and keep the fire burning from within. She is now ready to help whoever keen to learn and train them to be a future leader.
Wow………….thank you Emily for your sacrifice and kind intention.

Our seasonal General Evaluator, DTM G. Sivalingam leads a powerful evaluation team. All the evaluators praised the speakers while providing room of improvement for them to further polish their public speaking skills. A big round of applause to them for the wonderful job done.

YES..........Another Ice Breaker won away the Best Speaker Award

Our President CC Linda Phoon adjourned the meeting with the below quote from Dave Weinbaum;
“The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings.”
Yes…………my fellow toastmasters, yesterday is gone, and tomorrow is yet to come. We have only today to ponder of. Let us begin today and make no regrets tomorrow.
Cheers………………………..
