Meeting Keynotes - "Footprints on the sands of Time" - August 12, 2013

Footprints on the sands of time

Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Globetrotter Tan Saw Bee, shared with us that during the recent cruise in the Baltic Seas, several crystal ladies had the opportunity to visit St Petersburg and other cities. St Petersburg took her breath away.

According to Saw Bee, if men like Peter The Great & women like Catherine The Great, had not left their footprints in St Petersburg, she would not have the opportunity to appreciate the amazing & exquisite monuments, buildings and artworks.

St Petersburg is the source of her inspiration for tonight’s theme ‘Footprints on the sands of time’ plucked from Henry Longfellow’s immortal poem “A Psalm of Life” where the below stanza from this poem was dedicated to all the members & guests.

Next, we had our Table Topics Master, KL Cheah who almost took away the breath of 5 courageous speakers with her profound table topics, giving the speakers great opportunities to demonstrate their “think on the feet” skills.
