Joy makes our heart a little lighter
Peace bring us all a little nearer
Love makes our friends a little dearer
Thank you TME TM Serene Ting, our ever happy and enchanting lady, who always laugh without cause…… for lifting our festive and celebration mood.
YES................………
December is a month of celebration and bonding.
December is a month of Thanksgiving.
Another round of applause to our TME Serene Ting for her generosity of giving out her “lovely soap” as a gift for all attendees to bring back.
Inspired by the theme “Joy, Peace & Love” and word of the evening  “Blissful”, our table topic master CTM CL Sharon Lam advised us to start each day with good words and end each day with a sentence “I did my best.  She walks the talk by preparing a list of profound phrases for all the table topic speakers to choose from. Just to name a few as below;

Our first assignment speech, the ice breaker, starts with a “bang” by our ever first performance artist cum singer, TM Vivien Lea. She was the second runner up in Astro Talent Quest in year 2000. As of to-date, she has produced 6 solo albums. As a Chinese singer, she was in opinions that English media is like magic for her. She believed that this magic can change her life and her future performances. She was determined in learning proficient English language. You can sense her strong will power in learning English through her additional Cs in 5 common Cs that possessed by successful people;
1.    Cash
2.    Credit Card
3.    Car
4.    Career
5.    Condo
6.  CC – Competent communicator

Bravo Vivien Lea. Keep up your high spirits, we can see the future champion in you.
Our second speaker in the pipeline TM Rachel Tan recalled her fun time playing games with her siblings. She remembered her mental checklist while playing jigsaw puzzle, and she smartly relates the playing skills to practical skills in working environment. In summary, she categorized 3 practical skills as below;
1.    Established key resources
2.    Develop a strategy
3.    Focus an end in mind
From here, we now understand that we not only learn by teaching, but also by playing. She ended her speech with this encouraging quote for us;
Challenges are what make life interesting, and
Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful
TM Vivien Seow chipped in smartly by diverting our attention to the future of Anti-Ageing. She drowned herself in a world of anti-Ageing. She brought us through her scientific research by explaining to us why we age, what Ageloc technology is, and how Ageloc technology works. Want to know more? Make sure you attend the next coming meeting in January 13, 2014 and ask her personally. J J J
While all of us were indulging ourselves in the world of Anti-Ageing, TM Nana Halim raised the spirits of thanksgiving by telling us the history behind the celebration. Even though thanksgiving comes only once a year, we should make a conscious effort to be thankful for both good and bleak days. We must also be thankful for the people around us, thankful for basic amenities and thankful for all the life challenges. In short, we must be thankful for all success and failures in life. To express her thankfulness, TM Nana Halim gave all the attendees a bar of Hershey chocolate. Thank you TM Nana Halim. We are thankful to be here with you tonight. J
To take advantage of this thankful event, our ever supportive ACS ALS Ng Sok Teng shared with us her 3 cups of coffee in her toastmaster journey. She was being told about the benefits of first cup of coffee (Introduction to toastmaster). Subsequently, someone offered her second cup of coffee (Joined toastmaster). And finally, she counter offered her third cup of coffee by serving as area B5 governor. She ended her speech by encouraging everyone to share their cups of coffee in toastmastering.
Table topic evaluator ATMS Yip See See praises all table topic speakers on their vivid presentation skills and provides room of improvement for each and every presenter.
A big hand to all the assignment speech evaluators, CC Aida Ang, ACG CL Tan Saw Bee, ATMB Karen Hee, ACB ALB Lee Mei Foong and ACG Low Laychi for their comprehensive and constructive evaluations.
