Landing at  Lukla   Tenzing -Hilary Airport(2800M), rated as extreme and dangerous killer runway in the world unfortunately, the only gateway to  Mt.Everest  . We did a last minute shopping for trekking essentials at the  airport village.  My expedition team comprising of total 22  paxs.  Our duffle bags and general porters who will carry two bags each from start to end. Inside the bags will be our sleeping bags, minimum clothing, toiletries, .etc. Countless crossings similar to this for trekkers, porters, donkeys and yaks(Himalayan cattle).  At 3440m,  Namche  Bazaar is considered a big town in this region.    Looking cool as the adventure has not yet begun… As we go higher, surrounding vegetation changes  .  At 4500M, no more plants to be seen except for rocks and shrubs.  No more firewood so the people here uses    dried yak-dung    as the only so...

Footprints on the sands of time Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Globetrotter Tan Saw Bee, shared with us that during the recent cruise in the Baltic Seas, several crystal ladies had the opportunity to visit St Petersburg and other cities. St Petersburg took her breath away. According to Saw Bee, if men like Peter The Great & women like Catherine The Great, had not left their footprints in St Petersburg, she would not have the opportunity to appreciate the amazing & exquisite monuments, buildings and artworks. St Petersburg is the source of her inspiration for tonight’s theme ‘Footprints on the sands of time’ plucked from Henry Longfellow’s immortal poem “A Psalm of Life” where the below stanza from this poem was dedicated to all the members & guests.           Next, we had our Table Topics Master, KL Cheah who almost took away the breath of 5 courageous speakers with her profound table topics, giving the speakers great opportunit...
