Rite of Passage
a) A ritual or ceremony signifying a change of status for an individual (from adolescence to adulthood; from member to resident of a club, etc)
Example:-
(i) The installation ceremony was a rite of passage for the in-coming president.
(ii) The circumcision of young Muslim boys entering puberty is part of the rite of passage.
b) An event that marks a significant transition in one's life. That transistion often involves you moving from one stage to another stage
Example:- When Mary becomes a President of this club, she will stretch her potentials and makes a difference for the club during her term. Transforming herself and bringing the club to agreater height is the rite of passage for Mary.
