Key Notes for the meeting -23rd August 2010
It was another good meeting....
The Toastmaster of the evening CC Ng Siew Tho started the meeting with a brief introduction of Toastmasters founder Dr Raplf Smedley four wives and him: How, When, Why, Who and Where this Benevolent program begin.
Right after President Speech, we have Humor Master Caroline to ticker our funny bones and follow by Table topics master Karen Goh with her impromptu session.
Our new member, Diana Ong took up the challenge and play as Grammarian role.
Word of the day:- Benevolent
Najwa, the Ah Counter girl...... managed to detect all speakers including her own speech clutches..
During our table topics session, Amy and Najwa table topic speakers... both of them spoke well, word just flow out easily the moment they were on stage.....Not to mention our regular guest speaker DTM Sivalingam ever ready for any topic of the day......
First Assignment speaker, (Ice Breaker) Joanne Gam rise and walk to the podium right after TME introduction. Her title for the speech was Nothing Is Impossible. She shared with us her family, her working life and how she overcomed her obstacles in career.
We truly enjoyed her speech. As her evaluator CC Yi Lin said, Joanne has met all her objective in this assignment. We all get to know her better now.
Congratulations!!!!! ..Well done Joanne and keep going......
Our Second Speaker, CC Emily Bong repeated her Ice Breaker. Her intention in redoing her assignment is to become a better speaker. Her title for the evening was Ways of Life. We got to know her better in her Ice Breaker......BRAVO...Your spirit in Toastmaster become the example to many members...
Division Governor, Irene Lee gave us an educational speech. In this democratic society, men and women have equal rights. in order to protect them self not to get in unwanted pregnancy, nothing wrong to carry 'girl condom' with them. I guess most of them agreed with her, including her evaluator ACB Julian Gan. Thus to that, her persuasive speech has voted the best speaker of the night.
President Mei Foong presenting Toastmaster Program that's suitable for all, especially the new members. We get a better understanding the structure of Toastmasters title and the benefit of Toastmasters.....Her evaluator DTM ,Sivalingam commented, it was all well prepared and saying Mei Foong has made this subject interesting and very easy to absorb.
Sharing of good news...............we have signed in another two members from last meeting.Amy and Diana our less than a month old Crystal members brought in two friends. Hooi Peng and Jyulia were impressed and seriously considering signing in the next Meeting. The other guest Boon Low who walked in last Meeting (Contest day) visited us again, this time bringing along with her cheque book (action speak louder than words). To be exact we have recruited seven members in this term.Hence, Crystal is having infusion of new blood.
As Ngah Eng, the General Evaluator said, the combination of the older members experienced and the 'Y Generation' enthusiastic news members will certainly bring the club to a much higher level.

A Big Thank You to all role players... A special thank to our General Evaluator DTM, Kwa Ngah Eng and Evaluator DTM Sivalingam . Not forgetting ACB Julian,despite his leg injury and inconveniences of walking, driving and climbing to the first floor; Julian still made a big effort to help us to evaluate Irene. You really inspire us Julian, nothing can stop you from Toastmaster.....
During our break, we celebrated members birthday who falled in the month of August. Members as below:-

Saw Bee, Christina Kon and Amelia birthday also falled in the month of August. Three of them were not able to attend the meeting. Happy Belated Birthday. All of us miss three of you so much on that day.
