Crystal Emcee Talk Key Notes 13/09/10
Dear Members and Guests
Thank you very much for joining Crystal Toastmasters Club special meeting in conjunction of celebrations Moon cake festival and the Excellent Emcee talk by our invited Distinguished speaker's ATMG, Jon Tan.
The room was decorated with lanterns, and varieties of moon cakes served during the break. All members and guests felt the mood of the theme: Mid-Autumn Festival-"Eat, Drink & Be Festive"
Christine Lum CC, did a great job as the Toastmaster of the Evening. She continued to uplift the festival mood which was set by President Lee Mei Foong ACS, opening speech.
Then, followed by our Table Topic Master Ng Siew Tho CC, giving topic all based on the theme. All speakers handle the topic well.
Table topic evaluator Tan Saw Bee ACG, gave very inspiring evaluations. She praised all Five impromptu speakers, that they performed well and knowing the importance of time.
Assignment speaker CC Emily attempted her second speech, also about this significant day . Her fairytale: in the 14 century, General Chu Yeng Chang developed this secret moon cake strategy hidden massage that cause China won the battle against their enemy.
Come to the second session, we have the honor of having with ATMG Jon Tan to conduct on his Mastery Workshop. Due to time constrains, Jon shared with us the three major key points of being a good Emcee.
For the benefit of members who were not present.
1) Ad-lib/impromptu, (think fast, act fast and in touch with knowledge)
2) Crisis management, (as a middle man and be emphatic)
3) Taboos ( draw a line, do not enjoy yourself in the event)
Our deepest appreciation to ATMG Jon Tan for his commitment and dedication to conduct this Workshop in Crystal. From Jon one hour talk, audiences already have some idea the role of the Emcee. Beside benefiting from the three important key points, Jon has also helped us to discover our personality.
Once again, Thank you Jon for refining our Emcee skills and helping us to develop our Brand.
Appreciation also goes to all our guests, both Toastmaster members and non Toastmaster, for continuously supporting us. We hope you have a very enjoyable, memorable and educational evening with us.
Last but not least, Thank you to all role players for making this another Amazing fun learning experience. A special Thank to our General Evaluator, Division Governor Irene Lee, for giving her valuable feedback for the whole event.
