Crystal Toastmasters Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest

Crystal Toastmasters Club successfully conducted the Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest on August 26, 2013. There are 5 contestants for each contest.

Our Organizing chair, Jennifer Pan started her opening address by congratulating the Contestants that they are already a winner in their own right. Especially for the first timer to have the courage to come forward to experience what is it like to be on stage in a contest. To some of them, such experiences will linger & remain in their minds for a long, long time and nothing can take away these precious moments.
Humorous Speech Contest Chair, Serene Ting
Our Humorous Speech contest chair Serene Ting, briefed the contestants and audience on rules and regulation which needs to be observed during the contest. Thereafter, contest started in the following sequence;

1.  Ogy Ong -  It’s The Goddess, Not The Temple

 2.  Vivien Seow  - Don’t Leave Home Without It 

 3.  Nana Halim -  Kopi O Licence

 4.  Elmira Moghime  - Pray, Play & Laugh
5.  Nicole Yap - Don’t Ask, Don’t Get
Evaluation Speech Contest Chair, Ng Siew Tho






Evaluation contest started right after the breaks. Our contest chair Ng Siew Tho invited the test speakers Annabel on stage to deliver her speech entitled to “Curiosity Kills The Cat.” All the 5 contestants take turn to give their best evaluation on the following sequence;

1. Linda Phoon
2. Ogy Ong
3. Tan Saw Bee
4. Low Laychi
5. Tammy Lim 
Yes....Our heart beating moment finally arrived. The champion for Humorous Speech Contest goes to Nicole Yap, followed by Nana Halim as first runner up and Ogy Ong as second runner up.

To kill your curiosity on winners of evaluation contest, Our evergreen “Big Sister” Tan Saw Bee won away the champion, followed by Low Laychi as first runner up and Tammy Lim as second runner up.

Congratulations to all the winners. Champion Nicole Yap and Tan Saw Bee will represent Crystal Toastmasters Club in the area contest at September 14, 2013. All Crystal ladies are encouraged to wear a tinge of pink to support our Champion on that day. Please mark your calendar on the below details:

Crystal TMC Meeting Keynotes 26th May 2014

“LET IT GO…………………LET IT GO…………………” In life, sometimes we harbour bitter and unpleasant feelings about someone or a disagreement; we allow such guilt or grief to be embedded in our hearts. Life goes on, just face the world, let it go and  let bygones be bygones . So ladies, set yourselves free, be someone who you want to be. Dress and look the way you like. From now on, transform and move forward with confidence and  RISE  like the break of  DAWN. A big applause to our ever energetic and confident TME, CC Tammy Lim for bringing in the idea of  “Let It Go.” Our Humour master CTM ATMB Carolyn Wong let go her first blast by standing on stage with her yellow  “wigs”  and act like a  “crown” . The laughter erupted even before she utter the first sentence. Obviously, a good beginning makes a good ending. Most of us burst into laughing    tears  upon watching and hearing her jokes.
