Moving forward to our 2 nd meeting with the theme “ Turning Lead Into Gold ” , our ever pink Jennifer Pan, CC as the TME, conducted another exuberating and memorable evening of a Speech Marathon with 6 enthusiastic Speakers incorporating the word of the evening “ Transcend ” in their Assignment Speeches. “ Turning Lead Into Gold ”  is a representation of an alchemy which is a sacred science that involves a magical process of transmutation of lead, which is the most impure metal into gold, which is of the most refined quality. It is a symbol of human potential. This metaphor for human transformation was made famous by an international best seller book entitled “the Alchemist” by renowned Author, Paulo Coelho. Personally, Jennifer relates the journey of toastmasters as a process that parallels the alchemical transformation of lead into gold. Our Crystals were indeed inspired by our evergreen Tan Saw Bee, ACG, CL as the TME, to kick start our new term with the theme “ Pushing the Envelope " . Saw Bee skilfully pumped up the audience with her high energy, great passion and enthusiasm to push the envelope which resonated with the Crystals to drive Crystal TM Club towards greater heights. To add on to her vibrancy, we also had the honour of 3 distinguished guests, namely, the vivacious and invigorating Grace Tan ACB CL, proficient Lee Wei Seong, ACG, and effervescent Lim Thian Seng, ACG CL to evoke and inspire our Crystals to push the envelope all the way … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …  …  … .       The table topic session was the test of the pudding!! 2 courageous new kids on the block, namely Melika and Elmira, (who just joined our Crystal family in this 1st meeting itself) pushed the envelope by taking the challenge to attempt the table topic...

Emily Bong, IPP and Ng Siew Tho, President 2012/2013 Friday 29th June, at Havana Tropicana was a significant once a year event where Emily Bong, our now Immediate Past President (IPP) shared the success story behind Crystal Toastmaster Club. Our 2011/2012 theme "Commit With Passion" was successfully fulfilled. We started strong and finished strong. The Crystals had certainly lived up to the standard and making Crystal’s flag flying high in Division B" said the beaming Emily.
