Meeting Keynotes “What Friends Are For”

Meeting held on 22nd July 2013
TME Ng Siew Tho brought some delicious
pineapple tart for everyone
In conjunction with our theme of the night “What Friends Are For”.   A song entitled to “That’s What Friends Are For” is being played even before the meeting started. TME of the night, CC CL Ng Siew Tho started off the meeting by sharing her personal story about her good friends. We need friends in life, whether in good time or bad time. Friends are our pillar of strength. She especially likes the below lyrics of the song and shared with all the attendees;


"Keep Smiling, Keep Shining,
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure…
That’s what friends are for………"


So touching............
The baton was subsequently passed to Table Topic Master ACB ALB Lee Mei Foong to build the climax. All 5 speakers are able to relate their true personal story about their friends in life.  A friend in need is a friend indeed.
All the assignment speakers are equally competent in delivering their assignment speeches. You will know them better by reading through the below summaries;

1.    Melanie Kam TM started off her speech by a quote from Elbert Einstein:
“A ship is always safe at the shore, but it is not what it is built for.”
She smartly led the audience to her speech title : “Take The Plunge” by encourage all women to start their own business. She shared with us her success story in her career life.
2.    Esther Then CC teaches us how to become a successful salesperson. She cited the quality of a salesperson and guide us through the persuasive process. Our understanding was further in dept through the role playing session.

3.    Jennifer Pan CC ALB further enlightened us on the judging criteria of evaluation contest. Her presentation was an eye opener especially for future contestants.






4.    Irene Lee ACS ALS started off her interpersonal communication project No. 1 – Conversing with ease, with title : No Man is An Island. She brought us through 4 levels of communication process. She further sharpened her communication skills through a role playing session.

Table Topic Evaluator Karen Hee ATMB praises all the 5 impromptu speakers for being able to relate their own personal story to the topic given. All 5 speakers are equally good in body movement and hand gesture. She also pointed out some room for improvement to all the speakers.

All the speech evaluators pointed out the strength of each and every speaker and provided some room for improvement to all the assignment speakers.

Our invited General Evaluator, Lum Woon Foong DTM especially likes the warm welcome from all the crystal ladies. She encouraged all the ladies to maintain that “warm” in the applauses given to each and every speaker.

        Appreciate and cherish every moment with them.
